A New Look

Michael's mum Katherine to get $1 million a year from late singer's estateCourt documents released in LA have shown that Katherine Jackson – mother of late superstar Michael – will get more than $1 million (£606,000) a year from the king of pop's estate.
The sum is made up of $26,804 a month for Katherine and a monthly allowance of $60,000 for Michael's children, Prince Michael, 11, nine-year-old Paris, and Blanket, seven.
Details of the allowance, which was approved in August, have remained confidential until now.
Court papers show Katherine's money goes on an assistant, housekeeper, driver, utilities, clothing, grooming and other expenses. It is not known if any of her funds are being used to help other members of the Jackson family.
As far as how the children's allowance is being spent, the court documents state $315,000 per year goes towards employees caring for them while $160,000 is put aside for entertainment and other expenses.
Michael's mum, who is the children's legal guardian, wanted details of the money kept private but the judge presiding over a hearing this week said he did not think the total amount could remain sealed.
A further court hearing has been scheduled for October for a progress report on how the children are coping since their father's death.
Concerns were raised after Michael's daughter Paris paid an emotional tribute to her father at his memorial service in July.

We will not comment

According to information from the LA coroner's office, which was made public in Texas, where Dr Murray has offices, Michael had lethal levels of the powerful anaesthetic propofol in his body when he died.
The findings came to light this week as unconfirmed police reports suggesting investigators had concluded the star's death was homicide.
Under Californian law this means the artist was killed either accidentally or on purpose.
On this aspect of the case, Mr Chernoff said: "We will not comment on the anonymous law enforcement source that claims that Michael Jackson's death will be ruled a homicide.

He was the ultimate performer – an exceptional dancer, a gifted song writer and singer with a burning passion for everything he did. His work continued to inspire new generations of fans around the world, and will no doubt keep his name alive for decades to come. Few musicians can equal the incredible impact Michael Jackson has had on the world of music since he burst onto the scene as a member of the Jackson Five in 1966. As the world mourns the loss of the king of pop, we look back at key moments from a stellar career. Brooke Shields remembers Michael Jackson at his memorial serviceWhenever we were out together and a picture was taken there would be a caption of some kind, and the caption usually said something like, ‘an odd couple’ or ‘an unlikely pair.’ But but to us it was the most natural and easiest of friendships.
“I was 13 when we met and from that day on our friendship grew. Michael always knew he could count on me to support him or be his date, and that we would have fun no matter where we were. We had a bond.”

Diana Ross misses Michael Jackson Memorial service but pledges support“I am trying to find closure, I want you to know that even though I am not there at the Staples Center. I am there in my heart.
I have decided to pause and be silent. This feels right for me. Michael was a personal love of mine, a treasured part of my world, part of the fabric of my life in a way that I can’t seem to find words to express.
Michael wanted me to be there for his children, and I will be there if they ever they need me. I hope, today brings closure for all those who loved him. Thank you Katherine and Joe for sharing your son with the world and with me. I send my love and condolences to the Jackson family.”

“Michael always knew he could count on me to support him or be his date. … We had a bond and maybe it was because we both understood what it was like to be in the spotlight from a very, very young age. I used to tease him and say, `I started when I was 11 months old. You’re a slacker. You were like 5?’ Both of us needed to be adults very early, but when we were together, we were two little kids having fun. … M.J.’s laugh was the sweetest and purest of anyone I’ve known.”

La Toya, 53, who makes the claims on Channel 4's The Paul O'Grady show, claims Paris said: "The cardiologist was the best, so how could this happen? What happened is they worked him too hard.

Autopsy Report Reveal Jackson Was 'Healthy'

Michael Jackson was "fairly healthy" and did not suffer from any serious pre-existing conditions that would have increased his risk of a drug overdose, according to new autopsy report findings.
The King of Pop passed away on June 25 after suffering a cardiac arrest. The Los Angeles County Coroner ruled in August the star was killed by a cocktail of strong prescription drugs.
Investigators claim Jackson died when an injection of powerful anesthetic Propofol was mixed with another sedative.
Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, is currently being investigated by police over allegations he administered the fatal dose to help the star sleep the night before he died.
